About Tesamorelin

How Tesamorelin works

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone, GHRH(1–44), carrying a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminus. That modification protects the molecule from dipeptidyl peptidase-4, which otherwise clips native GHRH within minutes.

It acts at the GHRH receptor on the pituitary, stimulating release of the body’s own growth hormone rather than supplying growth hormone directly. That distinction — secretagogue versus replacement — is why it appears in the literature as a separate class from recombinant GH.
