About CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH); Ipamorelin is a selective growth-hormone secretagogue (a GHRP). The two act on complementary parts of the growth-hormone axis and are frequently studied together, so RetaNord supplies them as a combined 10-vial research kit. How CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin work

Two peptides acting on different receptors of the same axis. CJC-1295 is a stabilised analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, acting at the GHRH receptor. Ipamorelin is a selective agonist at the ghrelin / growth-hormone-secretagogue receptor — a different receptor entirely.

Because the two inputs converge on the same pituitary output through separate routes, they are routinely studied together. Ipamorelin is described in the founding literature as selective: unlike earlier secretagogues it was reported not to raise cortisol or prolactin at effective doses.

What the research shows

The 1998 European Journal of Endocrinology paper introduced ipamorelin as the first selective growth-hormone secretagogue; a 2006 JCEM study reports prolonged GH and IGF-I stimulation with CJC-1295.

A note on naming: “CJC-1295” is used for two different molecules in circulation — the version with a drug-affinity complex (DAC) and the shorter modified GRF(1–29) without it. Check the lot documentation rather than assuming which one a supplier means.
