About TB-500

TB-500 is a synthetic version of the active region of thymosin β4, a naturally occurring peptide that plays a role in actin regulation and cell migration. It is commonly paired with BPC-157 in tissue-repair research and is supplied as a lyophilized 10-vial kit.

How TB-500 works

TB-500 is the synthetic form of the actin-binding region of thymosin β4, a small naturally occurring peptide. Thymosin β4 is the main G-actin sequestering protein in most cells — it holds monomeric actin in reserve and controls how much is free to polymerise.

Because actin assembly underlies cell migration, published work studies this fragment in wound closure, angiogenesis and cell-motility models. It works through the cytoskeleton rather than through a classical receptor.

What the research shows

A 2016 chapter in Vitamins and Hormones covers the cardioprotection literature; a 2018 paper in Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy covers the actin-regulation mechanism directly.

Note the naming: “TB-500” and full-length thymosin β4 are not the same molecule. TB-500 is the short synthetic fragment; much of the published literature studies the full 43-residue protein. The registry identity below is for the fragment.
